It’s our first week back after the Christmas holidays, and you’d think that we’d be all refreshed and ready to get back to the classroom. You’d think that, but you’d be wrong.
Most of the students in my classes can’t seem to get back into the groove of school. They just seem to sit there and let everything wash over them. I’m not sure why. I was talking to a colleague about this, and he suggested it might be the winter blahs. I think it’s too early for the winter blahs. That usually happens in late February. I’m thinking they haven’t recovered from the Christmas holidays, staying up really late and sleeping in. I’m wondering if I’ve recovered from the Christmas holidays when life wasn’t regulated by bells every 75 minutes, and I could actually have some peace and quiet.

Winter blahs, yeah I got’em when is Spring? No matter how much sleep I get I am always tired. The kids look more adjusted than me. Maybe now is the time to challenge them to wake them up
Anthony,
Today was much better. It was sunny and bright. Everyone seemed more awake, including me.
Today is the last day of our holiday break. We got 23 days away from school so I am hoping everyone will return well rested. Of course, since the kids have been gone so long, I will have to retrain!
DKzody,
Wow, 23 days away from school. That’s great. Good luck with the retraining. I hope it’s relatively painless.
