Hi, I myself and an underachieving student, and have always wondered myself why I don't do work that's required of me.

What do I think is the cause? Poor work habits. Lack of motivation.

Maybe for a month in a new school term, I would be doing well in school—with marks between the 80s and 90s. I would complete all of my homework and assignments, and prepare well for tests.

But gradually, I just lose the drive. By the 2nd month, I stop caring and just do well enough to consistently get 70—80s. There are so many things in this world I want to experience, being a curious person, and that gets me excited. Of course, the stuff I learn in school is something I'm interested in as well, but I can't focus only on those subjects; I have to be doing other activities.

This is just something I've observed over the years.

Nice blog.
Will be following you.
BTW, my school library media center is such a magnet for my challenged students. They love the change of scenery and lower level of stimulation.
